I think women should have a least 1 red lipstick in her makeup kit. Why?
Coz when you only have 5 minutes to do your makeup all you need to do is :

1. Apply moisturiser.
2. Conceal blemishes & undereye circles.
3. Set with powder or apply powder foundation.
4. Groom your brows.
5. Apply eyeliner (optional) and mascara.
6. Apply lipbalm and RED lipstick.
You can also use your fingertips to dab the lipstick on your lips for a stained effect.

If you're too lazy to apply eye makeup, just even out your skintone with powder foundation and apply red lipstick. Wearing sunglasses also gives the illusion of wearing FULL makeup. =)

Review: Revlon Fire & Ice Superlustrous Lipsticks

Product Info from Revlon:
Silky smooth, creamy formula with silk-enriched mega moisturisers and vitamins.

WEIGHT: 4.2 grams

SHADES : Superlustrous lipsticks are available in over 70 shades, but only a few are available locally.

PROS:
* no weird lipstick smell (*ehem* NYX)
* i love the classic black tube packaging with Revlon's classic logo in cursive
* The texture of Demure, Temptress & Siren reminds me of MAC Lustre Lipsticks, while Light and Fire is similar to MAC Amplified creme in terms of texture and finish.
* Amazing staying power (Light & Fire), lasts for about 5 hours on me. It leaves a nice stain on my lips even after eating/drinking.
* Buildable color (Siren & Light and Fire)
* creamy texture, glides like a dream

CONS:

* not as moisturising as Revlon Colorburst Lipsticks, so make sure to apply lipbalm underneath.
* Demure & Tempress barely shows up on me. I have to layer it several times, but the shades are good though if you're sporting a colorful eye makeup or smokey eyes.
* Staying power is so-so (Demure & Temptress), it lasts for about 3 hours, but if you eat or drink expect it to fade pretty quickly.


ADDICTION FACTOR:

If you're looking for a cheaper alternative to MAC lipsticks, I highly recommend Revlon. They are inexpensive, creamy and come in different textures similar to MAC lipsticks (matte, frost & cream). You'll get 2 lipsticks for the price of 1 MAC lippie. I'm eyeing on Pink Pout (matte finish) coz of the good reviews.

I know YOU didn't expect this shade to be my favorite, but I love how it flatters my NC20 skintone. My officemate even noticed and asked what shade I was wearing.. she even tried it on and loved the shade! My friend's skintone is NC30 btw and it suits her too =)

PROS:
* inexpensive
* pigmented
* creamy and glides easily
* moisturising formula that doesn't dry out my lips
* colors are really pretty!
* no weird smell or taste

CONS:
* i noticed the color fades easily when I eat or drink, but I don't mind re-applying =)


TIPS:
* Even though this is a moisturising lipstick, don't forget to apply lipbalm prior to application. Apply lip gloss after lipstick if desired.


ADDICTION FACTOR:
I really love these lipsticks, its creamier than MAC lippies IMO! I'm planning to buy a lighter pink shade, already tested it at the counter but I forgot what shade it is =P

Bonbon pink - a shimmery medium pink, it doesn't look too bright when applied. Instantly brightens my face!

Coral pink - a no-brainer liptick. You can wear this with a pink/peach blush.

Colour Collection Matte Edition Lipstick in Vintage

PRODUCT INFO:

TO USE: Apply color. Wait for five minutes for color to set.

WEIGHT : 4 grams

SHADES : Available in more than 5 shades.

PROS:

* no weird smell

* non-drying for a matte lipstick

* amazing staying power. Long-lasting compared to the famous MAC Pink Nouveau lipstick.
* inexpensive cool-toned pink shade that brightens up my face
* easy to apply, glides on easily.

CONS:
* emphasizes chapped/dry lips
* only available in Tupperware outlets/dealers.

TIPS:
Exfoliate your lips first with a damp towel or a soft toothbrush. Apply lipbalm and let it absorb for a few minutes before applying lipstick. For super smooth lips apply petroleum jelly or any emollient lipbalm before going to bed. I recommend Carmex, Vaseline or Rosebud Salve.

ADDICTION FACTOR:

This is my first Colour Collection Lipstick and I love it! I want to try other shades.

Spend vs. Save: MAC Pink Nouveau Lipstick

Here's one of MAC's best selling shade. I read famous celebrities like Anne Curtis, Heart Evangelista, Ruffa Gutierrez and Kriz Aquino have this in their kikay kits.

MAC Lipstick in Pink Nouveau (Satin) - Php 970.00
It is described as a Bright Pink on MAC's site
LA Colors Moisture Lipstick in Pink Parfait - Php 60.00

PACKAGING :

I love the sturdy black bullet case of MAC's lipsticks.
LA Colors has a clear "cheap" plastic cap that easily cracks.

WEIGHT :
MAC - 3 grams
LA Colors - 3.7 grams

TEXTURE :
Both are creamy but MAC has a drier texture compared to LA Colors that is a bit glossy when applied.

COLOR - PAY OFF :

Both are pigmented.

STAYING POWER :
Both lasts for about 3-4 hours on me without eating or drinking.

NYX round lipstick in Fig

Pink Parfait is a blue based pink while Pink Nouveau looks a purplish pink in the tube, but goes bright pink when applied. Fig is a warm medium pink while Mauve has a purple undertone but not bright when applied - its a very pretty MLBB shade on me.

FINAL THOUGHTS:

I love Pink Nouveau but if you're looking for something cheaper Pink Parfait is an alternative. Plus I really love the glossy texture of LA Colors lipsticks, its very moisturing!

Review : Lakme Enrich Lipcolor

As promised here's my review. This is the lipcolor I used in my previous FOTD. These are pasalubongs from India (plus the cute bangles which I really love!) According to my friend, LAKME is a popular brand there. Thanks Sunitz! *muah* Get well soon!

Lakme Enrich Lipcolor in Cherry 352

(Classic Finish)

PRODUCT INFO from LAKME:

Deep conditioning lipcolor enriched with Vitamin E for softer and smoother lips. Contains strawberry, grape seed, and peach extracts to keep lips nourished and soft. Made in India.

RETAIL PRICE: I don't have any idea.

NET WEIGHT : 4.4 ml

SHADES: Available in more than 30 shades in Satin, Sheer, Metallic, Classic and Matte Finishes.





PROS:

* creamy

* non-drying

* stays on for about 4 hrs without eating or drinking

* very pigmented

* does not settle into fine lines





CONS:

* not available locally

* has a strong fruity scent (maybe because of the fruit extracts) - but it disappears after a while



ADDICTION FACTOR:

I love it! =) LAKME is brand by Unilever India. I hope they will carry this brand locally =)

* really feels lightweight, as if im not wearing lipstick.

* creamy texture that glides evenly

* non-drying formula

* does not settle into fine lines

* color is buildable

* lasts about 3-4 hours on my lips

* shades that I have are not too shimmery nor matte



CONS:

* a bit expensive - but I wouldn't mind paying for a lipstick as pretty as this!



TIPS:

Eventhough this is a moisturising lipstick, don't forget to use lipbalm underneath.



ADDICTION FACTOR:

I want to try True Red and Carnation (they said this is a MAC Strayin' dupe)
