The 2 colors are dupes of NYX's Concealer in a jar in Light & Beige
Since I already sold my Medium concealer since its dark on me, i think its kinda similar to the other color in the palette.

WHAT I LIKE:
* goes pigmented and blends easily
* looks natural
* very creamy
* inexpensive for 15 shades of concealer
* handy to carry (palette size is 4 x 6 inches)
* has a thick consistency (a little product goes a long way)
* several shades to match ANY skintone
* can be used for contouring
* has no makeup smell.. yey!


WHAT I DON'T LIKE:
* can be cakey if not set with powder


TIPS:
* warm the concealer by dabbing a little product at the back on your hand using your fingertips and gently PAT (not rub) on the desired area. Layer until you achieve the coverage you want. Set with loose powder.


ADDICTION FACTOR:
I think this palette will last me a LONG time.. maybe a year? =)

Evangelion Dance!

Close friends of mine would have been victims of my endless pimping of this video since last september.

Anyway, I can't remember how I found it but this is a freakin good dance cheorography of EVA's classic opening song, Cruel Angel Thesis. I bet they are some semi pro dance group. Otherwise,they couldn't have executed all those straining and extremely difficult kicks and dance steps.

Also, if you haven't already realised. They are all males ;D Ayanami Rei with balls =X

WHAT I LIKE:
* doesn't cake on me
* very lightweight feeling
* found my match during the first try
* specifically developed for us Asians! Yey for that!
* unscented
* texture is perfect! not runny or sticky
* very affordable
* convenient to carry
* non-comedogenic (doesn't clog pores)
* dewy finish


WHAT I DON'T LIKE:
* product holds only 18ml compared to Clear Smooth gel which is 30ml.
* during midday i noticed my face looks dewy (not shiny). I prefer it matte =P

TO USE:
I prefer to use this with a damp sponge or foundation brush. Set with loose powder.

TIPS:
This foundation is quite sheer but evens out my skintone, for a medium coverage set the foundation with loose powder using a puff and gently press the powder onto your skin.

If you want a heavier coverage layer with mineral foundation. I prefer to apply loose powder first before applying mineral foundation on my face, so that the foundation glides smoothly on my skin.
If you want a dewy look, use a damp sponge in applying. Use a large powder brush to apply a sheer layer of powder for a long lasting finish(optional).

ADDICTION FACTOR:
Will i repurchase? Yes! Yes!
But i wanna try first their Clear Smooth Minerals Liquid foundation SPF 18 in N02 to see which of the two variants suit me.

Okay, very confusing title xD. Anyway, cause I was on the topic of Cosplay MTV previously....I just thought I'd take the chance to pimp embarrass share some of the substandard cosplay videos I did with some friends during our Photoshoot or events.

It's all the trend now isn't it? A couple of friends and I am had this idea of doing some cosplay videos since god know when but we never got around to doing it =( I blame life, time and money =(

Anyway, with the advancement of technology made more accessible to everyone these days. Fan Cosplay MTVs are popping up everywhere and constantly making my gawk at the quality of it.

Natural vs. Synthetic Makeup Brushes

Based on my research here's a quick rundown :

SYNTHETIC BRUSHES - they are usually made of Taklon and Nylon.

PRO's:
* very soft
* doesn't smell bad
* good for sensitive skin
* cheaper compared to natural hair

CON's:
* there's pigment fall outs <- is this the correct term?! =P
- i noticed this when applying powder eyeshadow

* they can harden especially when often used with cream products.


NATURAL BRUSHES - made of goat hair, squirrel hair, horse hair, sable, pony, etc..

PRO's:
* really good in picking up pigments
* the older the better (the hair becomes soft with age)

CON's:
* has a weird smell <- hey, they're made of animal hair =P
* don't get me wrong, these are soft but not AS soft compared to the synthetic ones
* much expensive
* not advisable for sensitive skin or people allergic to animal hair

According to GoArticles.com:

Natural Hair Makeup Brushes are good for applying Powder based products like loose / pressed powders and blushes.

Synthetic Hair Makeup Brushes are best for Creamy products such as concealers (liquid/cream), liquid foundations, lipstick (for lipbrushes).


HOW I CLEAN MY BRUSHES:
* I wash my face/ powder brushes once a week (deep cleaning). After each use I wipe them clean with baby wipes.

* For foundation brushes, I wash them every day.

* I use a drop of dishwashing liquid/ baby shampoo, then gently swirl the brush hair on my palm.

* Wash throughly with running water (swirling motion) with the head facing down, so that water will not enter the ferrule (metal part that separates the brushes from the handle).

* I lay them down to dry using a small towel. I prefer to elevate my brushes so that it will dry faster and again, the water will not drip inside and moisten the glue that binds the hair.

* NEVER attempt to blowdry brushes! It will ruin the hair..

OH.MY.GOD.

I've heard of it but seeing IS believing! Look at the perfectness of it!

The lights emitted from the suit, the smoke gushing out from the vents, the head moving almost humanly along with the surreal music and sound effects. AHHHHHHHHHhhhhh~~~~~~

I'm not exactly a gundam fan (in the making though ahhaa =X) but this video moves me so much I'm actually having some teeny weeny goosebumps! I wish I can be there to see it !!!!!!



This is a full size 18meter Gundam statute at Tokyo's Odaiba Island. Some extract information from AnimeNewsNetwork.

"The statue will be free for viewing, but it will only stay up for two months. It will be built with fiberglass-reinforced plastic over a steel frame so it can be disassembled later. The head unit will move and the body will have 50 points that will emit light. Mist can shoot forth from 14 locations on the body. The park is just four trains stops from Tokyo Big Sight, the home of the Comic Market dōjinshi convention and the Gundam Big Expo convention that will be held from August 21 to August 23. Bandai NAMCO Group is still determining what to do with the statue after its allotted two months in the park are over."

If they decide to thrash the Gundam before majority of the fans see it in its full glory I'm gonna kick them in the eye (don't ask me how I'm gonna do that -_-;;; ). But high likely they will shift it over to some other exhibition area =D Unless some big guy up there screws up big time. I can't imagine them disposing something so costly LOL.

Did you notice that NW20's undertone is kinda pink, but it matched my skintone (back of hand)
I have both Pink & Yellow undertones or maybe Neutral is the correct term?! =)
But NC25 also matches my skintone (face) when blended.. Haven't tried the W20 on my face yet.

Stgcc day 1

STGCC Day One! Or technically, day two. I woke up really late and well arrived really late too hoho. Mostly because I was a little skeptical about the event as the reviews of Toy con 2008 was sad to say, quite boring.

So I came to the event with little expectations and was pleasantly pleased. Mostly due to the happening vibe the event aisles were emitting. Personally, I'm not a big fan of merchandises so what's inside the event halls didn't really interest me much. I had initially thought the cosplay turn out for day would be pathetic but guess I was wrong! There were many really cool cosplayers there :)




The first group of kawaii babes I saw was K-On ! ! Didn't get a chance to snap any pics of these adorables because I then saw this randomtaiwanese, shiroin. He passed me his name card and we started chatting. He has started this really impressive free database site called CosWorld (all by himself OMG ! Siao Scripting skills !) for cosplayers and photographers to upload their photos and interact in. Totally cool.

Oh did i mention that its free? I can go on and on about the fabulous features shiroin have in mind for his baby but for now, I'll keep this entry STGCC related haha.





Camwhoring with the elegant Athena!

Anyway, I went around and took a lot of cosplayer hostages :x The next pair of familiar faces i saw was Jia-er and Xiaobai. Cosplaying as Athena and Hades from Saint Seiya the Lost Canvas.

I then spotted Hade's pretteh necklace pendant ! I thought it looked pretty good for a prop and bugged her to share with me her crafting tips xD



Isn't she cute and unbelieveaby nice :x ? I don't follow Saint Seiya so i know nuts about her character. But honestly, I think she'd make a fine Shana. Someone please slap me for my randomness - . - u


Switch girl! They look so comfy xD

Switch Girl! I've only seen the cover of the manga at Kino but I can already tell I'll like it. Haha. I thought the pink girl did a really good cosplay :D not glamorous but hey, cosplay's about bringing out the characteristics of the character :) ! Who cares about extravagance?!

I then discovered that Alto is the reincarnation of the legendary monkey god (saiyuki anyone ?) and keeps his transport in his pants. Lols.









DOLLS

There were many many pretty costumes around but I didn't managed to get as much photos. Mostly because i long lost faith in my Lumix FS3 to perform under indoor lighting T.T . So yeah, video's the way to go man !



Vocaloid Miku ! Remember her from this tutorial xD ? Yeap, that's our ever kawaii Inuran as Miku from the game version!


Then the Dissidia team arrived. They were so popular I could hardly have any quiet time with them ! People kept requesting to take pictures with them one after another. But with my Haruhi power, i managed to terrorize them into accepting an interview from me :D


With the ever kawaii Reiko cosplaying as Zidane from Dissidia.

I'm seriously wishing I had taken better photos and videos of her that day but the event conditions were so seriously bad it really deterred me from approaching many cosplayers. The aisles were so cramped T_T The cramp-ness was also one of the main reasons why many of my camera footages came out so shaky and erm, not smooth. Simply because there are too many people STANDING behind me at close range(taking photos of the cosplayers-_-;;) while the cosplayer strike their poses for me. I couldn't move backwards much! Either that or I'd have to move very slowly. Just....a lot of restrictions due to the space constraints T_T

Decadence Cosplaying as Terra Branford from Final Fantasy IV. Isn't she pretty =3? I think Decadence really pulled off the semi-eurasian look very well :D Okay fine, so Final Fantasy characters are mostly supposed to be caucasians that seemed to have some teeny weeny asian blood ... or at least they look like they are but.... ok I'm not making at sense @_@;


And she is one crazy costumer! The costume was pulled together within 3 days @_@!!!! *dies* I personally HATE having to be involved in such delirious last minute rush (even though I've done similar acts on multiple occasions =X=||| ) because the output are usually... lesser than I personally hoped for. *emos*

I also terrorized the kawaii Miku to carry out this interview with Cvy on my behalf haha! I am so scary I love myself :D Wanna know more about how cvy did her iron knight costume xD ? Watch below !



you might notice a lethal flaw in this video . . . . It ended very abruptly ! It was so because I was SHOOED out of the way by a random passerby mother! If you strain your ears you'd hear a voice outside asking me "Are you done?" rather rudely. How absurd can these people be ?!!! I ought to have snapped back hard at her but her adamant absurdness shocked me so much it took me 2 seconds to realise what had occurred. By then, my body had already, rather shamefully, moved out of the way.

I feel pretty sad to admit this but STGCC 2009t really unveiled a very ugly side of the local event attendees to me. Don't believe? Check out kanasaiii's camera coverage.



Saw the last scene? What ironic coincidence! Just as we were talking about poor attendee conduct this joker of a balding middle age man comes in, USE our foreign friend's shoulder as a ledge and snapped a photo of cvy half a meter from her face. Talk about conduct, or the lack of it !

Krisis Komix at Metro Comic Con

Ayan, pasensya na sa delay sa mga pics na ito. Kasi kailangan i filter ang pictures sa dami nila...anyways Manila Comic Con was a blast even I just attended the second day. It was really a day of comics, toys, cosplay and more cosplay! Its actually different from komikon and the cosplay mania but it still have the same elements. So excitement for this one is over flowing. Hope to attend this one next year! For now lets get set for another round of Komikon and the upcoming cosplay manila 2009! waaaw! ang dami naman! enjoy the pics!
